Designed for a collector client’s contemporary kitchen in response to her brief for artistic storage to house her baking tins, bundt pans and cookie trays, with a hand rubbed high gloss lacquer finish in Rothko red, orange and Schiaparelli pink; its orange birch interior features marquetry in Kyoto Shrine, a David Hicks pattern. Carved, fluted, red lacquered walnut drawers reference the drape and fold of a Samurai commander’s silk kimono; traditionally used to signal his troops, the articulated war fan features palladium gilding. Unique piece.
Zelouf & Bell work closely with clients and specifiers to a brief, and can customize limited edition portfolio pieces, in terms of materials, finishes, dimensions, form and function. While no unique piece is the same, Zelouf & Bell work with clients to realize equally dreamy pieces, each with its own unique character and design.
