The wing of a bird, rain-slicked slate, mutable tide, river-polished stone; rich, reflective surfaces inspired by the Irish landscape inform this cabinet. Irish sculptor Cheryl Brown’s naif bronze hen pheasant (almost unfinished – our eyes fill in the detail left out) is mounted on one of the asymmetrical feathery figured mahogany doors, paused at the long channel handle, as if it wandered into our world from a wild place. In contrast, the cabinet’s ripple sycamore interior is articulate, refined, formal; fragments of detailed marquetry hen pheasant feathers inlaid in a graphic pattern feature on the drawer fronts, and tray inside the middle drawer. Dimmable LED lighting, ivory shagreen work top; leather-lined drawers. Limited edition, 1/6 + AP.
Zelouf & Bell work closely with clients and specifiers to a brief, and can customize limited edition portfolio pieces, in terms of materials, finishes, dimensions, form and function. While no unique piece is the same, Zelouf & Bell work with clients to realize equally dreamy pieces, each with its own unique character and design.
